Chief justice of the republic of Kenya Martha Koome has been through rigorous vetting processes to reach Where she is now.
At first, it started with shortlisting after application where she made it to be interviewed by the judicial service commission.
Upon being interviewed, she managed to trounce all the nine interviewees as she emerged top flooring Senior Counsels and other top notch judges.
Her name was then forwarded to Parliament by the president and again she got a clean bill of health whereby the president didn't waste time to approve her as the chief Justice designate.
The process reached crescendo yesterday when she took oath of office before the president at state House Nairobi.
A number of top leaders congratulated her for being the first woman to be at the helm of the judiciary as she took the opportunity to remind the executive to always respect court orders and support the judiciary.
Outside Kenya, Martha Koome's rise to the apex court cought the attention of former president of Liberia Ellen Johnson who took to her twitter account to congratulate Koome.
She said that equal representation of women in the legal system is integral in achieving fairness and inclusive societies.
"My warmest congratulations to Lady Justice Martha Koome as she becomes the first woman to serve as Chief Justice of Kenya. Women's equal representation in legal systems is integral to achieving fair, just, and inclusive societies." She said on Twitter. Johnson
Ellen Johnson is credited for being president of Liberia at a time when the country was torn apart by civil wars.
Her good leadership saw peace and calm return to the country until she handed over the instruments of power to the former Footballer George Weah.
