Leader of Opposition has opened up on the role of former President Uhuru Kenyatta during his 2022 presidential bid. The two had joined hands where they went on to form Azimio La Umoja, an Alliance which they believed was to deliver the win to Raila after unsuccessfully vying four times

According to Raila, Uhuru was not meant to campaign as well as use his influence as the head of state of Kenya to swing the presidential results in Raila's favour. Raila has maintained that he is a top notch politician who was capable of campaigning for himself and winning the elections thus he did not need Uhuru to do such
"Uhuru was not supposed to be campaigning for me. I am a politician in my own right and I am capable of campaigning and winning elections and he knows it. He did not use his position as the incumbent President to swing the results in my favour," said Raila
