Today, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will declare a new president for the Republic of Kenya. Only 32 constituencies, according to the Commission, still need to be announced, but they have already been confirmed. Kenyans are eagerly awaiting the Bomas of Kenya's announcement because both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio One Kenya Alliance have claimed victory in the elections. There have also reportedly been celebrations in several areas of the nation.
Following increased activity by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) at Bomas of Kenya, the National Tallying Center, Kenyans are only a heartbeat away from electing their next president. The change occurs six days after Kenyans voted to the polls to choose their group of leaders for the next five years on Tuesday, August 9.
According to IEBC data, slightly more than 50% of the 22 million registered voters cast ballots. Bomas of Kenya saw an increase in security despite the IEBC's insistence that all presidential candidates and their families would be given front-row seats.
