"Ruto Would Have Appointed Itumbi to Head Communications Authority of Kenya" Pauline Explains Why

Digital strategist cum communication expert Pauline Njoroge has poked holes in one of President William Ruto's appointments

President Ruto on Friday appointed businesswoman Mary Wambui Mungai as the Chairperson of the Board of Communications Authority of Kenya

However, Pauline Njoroge, who was part of the previous government's communication team noted that celebrated digital strategist Dennis Itumbu would have been a better option for the role of leading the Communication Authority of Kenya.

"But for heaven's sake, Dennis Itumbi would have been a way better choice, great even for the chairmanship of Communications Authority (CA)," she said in part.

According to Pauline, Kenya is currently in the era of the digital revolution and CA is playing a central role. She opined that Dennis Itumbi has some level of understanding of global trends and communications technologies in all their forms, and impact in a dynamic world, as compared to the person that Ruto picked for that key role.

Pauline believes that by President Ruto appointing Mary Wambui, he does not give the CA the seriousness it deserves as a crucial government agency

"This is one sector that is very critical for the advancement of this country. If all the changes at CA meant well for Kenya, the appointment should have been properly thought out," she added.
