In a report seen by the Standard media on Saturday, March 3rd, a coastal member of Parliament who sorts anonymity has revealed the secret behind the formation of a coastal region political party.
According to standard media, the coastal MP has revealed that the push to form a regional political party is mainly aimed at uniting the region and neutralising Ruto's influence in the region by supporting the ODM party's flagbearer in the upcoming General election.
"We don't want any vacuum where the deputy president Dr William Ruto will get traction from this region. We must fully lock the ground to ensure that Ruto gets less or no support from this region. We are going to support Raila but from the outside and not from the inside as we used to do. Abd by this everyone's interest is fully protected, "The legislature revealed.
The same report has also indicated that Kilifi county governor Amason Kingi is going to hold a convention meeting with MPs from the region to speed up the formation of that party.
