The building bridges initiative came into existence after the famous March 2018 handshake between Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Amollo Odinga and president Uhuru Kenyatta. The initiative seeks to bring changes to the current constitution by introducing some clauses in wanty situations.
The bill was heading to the referendum having gone through signatures collection and verification, voting by county assemblies, national assembly and senate before it was dealt a blow by the seven bench high court and court of appeal judges.
However, today attorney general through solicitor general attorney Kihara has moved to the supreme court of Kenya to have the court of appeal decision overturned, the lawyer now wants the Supreme court led by Chief Justice Martha Koome to reconsider the ruling made by the high court on initiation of a popular initiative and the creation of new constituencies, here is the link;
