Deputy President William Ruto joins Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, Woman Rep Wangui Ngirici and other worshippers at the ACK Kìanyaga Church for a Sunday service. Ruto is expected to tour various parts of the county as he drums support for his 2022 Presidential bid.
The arrival of the deputy president in Kirinyaga will increase tension on who should be the next governor in the County as it is hotly contested by two women from the region . This was witnessed when the two were given a chance to address the residents of Kianyaga.
The residents of Kianyaga went crazy when governor Ann Waiguru was given a chance to address the congregants. They were shouting the name of Ann Waiguru as the next governor.
On the other hand, a section of the youths also went crazier when the main opponent in the gubernatorial seat in Kirinyaga County Purity Ngirici was addressing the crowd.
The deputy president was accompanied by top leaders from the central Kenya and other parts of the country. They later toured different parts of Mt Kenya to sell their bottom up economic model and youths empowerment program.
