New Twist In Mombasa Gubernatorial Seat As Latest Opinion Polls Reveals Who Has Taken The Lead

Mombasa County gubernatorial seat became more complicated when the former first Governor for Nairobi County Hon Mike Mbuvi Sonko decided to join the race. Hon Mike Mbuvi Sonko will be vying on a Wiper Kenya Democratic Movement party ticket ahead of the fourth coming general elections to be held in August this year. He will be facing off with Mvita Constituency Member of Parliament Hon Abdulswamad Sharif Nassir of the Orange Democratic Movement party of Kenya and Hassn Omar of United Democratic Alliance party of Kenya.

There is new twist in Mombasa County gubernatorial seat as the latest opinion polls reveal who has taken over. According to The Star Kenya, Hon Mike Mbuvi Sonko has taken over with 46.6% of votes while Hon Abdulswamad Sharif Nassir comes second with 32.5%. Deputy President Dr William Samoei Arap Ruto's candidate Hon Hassan Omar is a distance third with 12.1% only. The three leaders are seeking to succeed the retiring incumbent Governor Ali Hassan Joho of the Orange Democratic Movement party of Kenya.
