ODM Delivers Bad News to Jubilee, Tells Azimio La Umoja Affiliate Parties to Disband

The Azimio La Umoja affiliate parties have been issued with new demands by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

On Tuesday, January 18, a section of ODM members from Western, led by Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi, told the media that the affiliate parties should fold and join the Raila Odinga-led party.

He stated that the ODM, as the mother party of the newly formed political bus, will put its foot down in order to increase Odinga's chances of winning.

"We are going to establish our authority as Azimio la Umoja's mother party. We will properly flex our muscles,"Amisi said.

He stated that the ODM's goal was not only to ensure that their party's leader succeeded President Uhuru Kenyatta, but also to complete a political clean sweep in the region.

"We are all in agreement on who we will support for the presidency, but we will not allow anyone to fill the other seats."

"We are not negotiating. In fact, we are calling on other candidates to disband their parties and join ODM," he said.

Notably, they also promised a free and fair nomination process to other affiliate parties in the region, including the Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K), if they dissolved.

This is a big blow to President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee party,as they are some of the affiliate parties of the Azimio La Umoja movement headed by Raila.
