MP Didmus Barasa's 'Kind Gesture' Lands Him in Trouble With Kenyans Online

Kimilili Constituency Member of the National Assembly Hon Didmus Barasa has landed in trouble with Kenyans online after sharing images helping in constructing a house for a needy constituent.

Taking to the social media, the vocal legislator claimed that he was improving on the living conditions of Diana Wafula by building her a shelter adding that the move is a good example of bottom up economic model.

"Enhancing the dwelling of Diana Wafula...a good example of the bottom-up economic model," read his post in parts.

Kenyans were however irked by the MP with majority claiming that he could have done better. They castigated him citing poor condition of the house claiming that he has not elevated the woman's living conditions at all and those were just sideshows to lure Kenyans for the General Elections are around the corner.

This is not the first time the MP has fallen victim of online attacks while demonstrating generosity. There was a time he landed himself in trouble after sharing images assisting a family in his constituency in preparing tea from a three-stone wooden stove. Kenyans again told him off claiming he should have gifted the family with a gas cooker.

With less than an year to the General Elections, politicians are trying by all means to get close to Wananchi on the ground and they are ready to do whatever it takes.
