What Kenyans Noticed About Ruto’s Visit To The Coast And Why They Raised Concerns

Deputy President William Ruto is on a mission to popularize his 2022 presidential bid despite the pandemic that has taken a toll on the economy. During his visit to Mombasa, many Kenyans noticed that there was no social distance and that wearing masks was not also observed.

Also of importance to notice is the presence of an ODM governor in the meeting. Nanok who was elected on an Orange ticket has for long been on Ruto’s side despite Raila Odinga trying to convince him to retract and join him in ODM as they push to have the BBI document endorsed.

Among those who attended the meeting were economist David Ndii and also Bitange Ndemo and also politicians allied to Raila Odinga from the coastal region. In today’s meeting, the leaders made their request and plea known to the deputy president as they strategize on having the region benefit more if Ruto becomes president.
