Days after the Deputy President William Ruto ruled of a possible alliance with the ODM leader Raila Odinga, political leaders allied to his camp and other political leaders have expressed their opinion on the same.
A day after Ruto allies from Mount Kenya Region threatened to ditch his camp if he joins Raila, Members of Parliament affiliated to One Kenya Alliance under Wiper's boss Kalonzo Musyoka and ANC's Musalia Mudavadi have warned the second in command of joining the former prime minister.
Speaking in an interview with the Standard, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior, Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo and Lugari MP Ayub Savula affirmed that Raila does not have any following in Mount Kenya and hence Ruto-Raila's pact would lose the polls.
"The elections will be won by the alliance that will be able to galvanize their current strongholds. It is that same reason why DP Ruto would not succeed Uhuru without the support of Mt Kenya.” said Mutula Jnr.
MP Maanzo claimed that Raila had not been embraced by the residents of Mt Kenya Region and his political career was determinant of the alliances he joins before 2022.
"There is no single vote that Raila will get from the Jubilee strongholds.." said Maanzo.
