Show of Power as President Uhuru Kenyatta Receives a High Profile Reception at a Top World Event

On Thursday, the Kenyan Head of State president Uhuru Kenyatta attended the Seventy-fifth World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland.

He was accompanied by high profile leaders among them the delegation of leaders who are accompanying him outside the country among them top cabinet Secretaries.

Those in his delegation include the Cabinet Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Health CS Mutahi Kagwe and also his Foreign Affairs counterpart CS Rachelle Omamo.

This year's session is the first in-person Health Assembly since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and is being held under the theme of: Health for peace, peace for health.

This year’s session of the Health Assembly will focus on the theme of “Health for Peace, Peace for Health” and will run from the 22-28 May at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.

Events kicked off with a high-level segment, with speeches from the elected Health Assembly President, Heads of State, special guests, an address by the World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General and the presentation of the Director-General’s Health Awards.
