ODM Governor Breaks Silence, Says He Will Name People Who Wanted To Kill Wajackoyah

In the general elections that took place on August 9, 2022, the leader of the Roots Party, Hon. Prof. Wajackoyah, ran for the presidency. Justina Wamae was his choice for the position of vice presidential candidate. During the memorial service at Indangalasia in Kamamega county for his late father Mzee Tito Jakoya, the governor of the ODM, Hon. James Orengo, made a threat to name the people who wanted Wajackoya dead. This caused Kenyans to react in a variety of different ways.

The governor of Siaya County is quoted as saying that Professor George Wajackoyah would not be alive today if it were not for the fact that he gave Professor Wajackoyah a heads up that he was the target of an assassination attempt.

Speaking at the event, Governor Orengo stated that he was one of the key senior Counsels who were investigating into the murder of the late Dr. Robert Ouko and that he knew the plans that they had for Professor George Wajackoyah when matters became more intense. He added that he was aware of the plans because he was one of the key senior Counsels. On the other hand, Mr. Orengo expressed his gratitude to God that Wajackoyah had survived and was even able to return to the race for the presidential position.

Orengo has said that he is now compiling a list of individuals who expressed an interest in assassinating Wajackoyah, and he will soon make this list available to the whole public regardless of whether or not the individuals on the list are still alive.
