Baringo Woman Representative Gladwell Cheruiyot has broken her silence after dishing out wheelbarrows and other hustlers' tools to her supporters.
The Woman Rep on Friday handed over Water tanks, carwash machines, wheelbarrows, ballast breaking tools and fishing nets to benefit several women and youth groups from Baringo County.
Dishing out of the hustlers' tools made people believe that she had ditched her KANU party, and was on her way to joining Deputy President William Ruto's camp
However, she has since broken her silence by saying giving out the tools is not a sign of joining DP Ruto, adding that she is firm in KANU.
According to her, just because wheelbarrow is associated with political parties it does not mean that other Kenyans cannot use the same to make their job easier.
She said she represents those who support the wheelbarrow and those who does not, but ready to give them what they want.
Basing on her statement, one could easily say she is not ruling out joining new parties being formed after saying that new parties like UDA (wheelbarrow party) has its links to KANU, so they give birth to it.
Empowering the people
The woman MP while launching the NGAAF project at Kabarnet Cereals said that she saw the need of uplifting the livelihoods of the people as one way of eradicating poverty in the community and also addressing the rampant cases of unemployment.
She further called upon Baringo residents to register themselves in groups so that they can be in a position to apply for loans from the national government programmes which are aimed at empowering youth, women and people living with disabilities.
This was after she handed over a cheque worth Shs 7.9 million to youth and women groups who applied for the affirmative action fund.
At the same time, she added that her leadership will benefit everybody despite the political faction they are affiliated to, saying that parties are just but political vehicles which are being used to ascend to power by leaders.
On matters 2022, she drummed up support for Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, affirming that the people of Baringo should support him since he has an opportunity to bring the presidency back to the county.
Furthermore, the KANU leader noted that it is better to have the president from within than from far.
