On the second Tuesday of August 2022,Kenya will hold her third general election under the 2010 consititution. Politicians across the country have Declared their Candidature in various elective positions.
The presidential race is highly watched not only in Kenya but across the African continent. President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to leave the office after the expiry of his second term. The race will bring together the deputy president William Ruto,the Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga,the ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and the KANU chairman Gedion Moi.
As the president leaves the office,he would like to leave behind a person who who will continue with his Development agenda. The recent online polls indicated that the deputy president William Ruto is more preferred than the the ODM premier Raila Odinga,this is because,the second in command has been the principal assistant of the president for the last line years. Deputy president got over 66.9% of the votes casted compared to Raila Odinga.
