Ruto took to his social media to post a bible verse that said, “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up — James 4:10” after a church service in Kitui County.
A section of Kenyans in response slammed the DP for quoting the Bible as they questioned whether he was campaigning or had attended a church service after his busy day in two churches in Meru and Kitui.
Kenyans used the Bible verse against Ruto as they asked him how humble was he when he was busy attacking his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta after their fallout.
“Gambling business. Attend church in Meru then Ukambani? It's not service but clearly campaign. Quoting many memorized verses in the name of humbling,” said Duke Nyakiana.
“When u go against ur boss, is that being Humble, or where do your being Humble apply? Am just a concern citizen,” said Arturo Mugos.
“We need to differentiate between political campaign and preaching,” said Shadrack Muthusi.
“Are you humble? Your legacy of insubordination and sabotaging your boss is unmatched,” said Wakili Gachanja Mwai.
“Pharisees praying and praising themselves on how humble they are, humility and arrogance defines themselves,” said Onsembe Josephat Kazeh.
“Going to church doesn't make you a believer the same way sleeping in a garage can't make you wake up as a car The bible says that we will know them by their fruits,” said Gwitu Kirimaini.
