Battle For Mt Kenya Is No Longer About Raila Or Ruto, It's About Karua And Rigathi - David Murathe

The upcoming general elections in August will be interesting in many ways. One of them being that we shall have a new president since Uhuru Kenyatta is completing his 2nd term. William Ruto will be squaring it out with Raila Odinga among other presidential candidates.

Many Kenyans waited until the respect candidates named their running mates. For Ruto, he picked Gachagua from Nyeri while Raila Picked Martha Karua from kirinyaga. Since then, there have been mixed reactions from Kenyans about who will carry the day in the mount Kenya region.

The battle for Mount Kenya has shifted from Raila and Ruto to Gachagua and Karua. This is according to former Jubilee vice chairman David Murathe. He believes that in as much as both presidential candidates play a key role, the votes from the region will most likely be influenced by the running mates.

It seems Gachagua has more experience in mobilizing votes in the rural areas compared to Martha Karua who even lost the gubernatorial seat to incumbent Ann Waiguru. What are your thoughts about Murathe's Sentiments? Are they true and that Mt Kenya will be squared between the two running mates?
