Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua continues to elicit mixed reactions from leaders across Mount Kenya, after she failed to send invitation to all party leaders over a meeting that will be held at Starwood Hotel in Kerugoya today.
Some of the leaders who received the invites dismissed the meeting saying that it had nothing to do with their region, while those who failed to get the invites questioned the motive of such a meeting.
According to a publication by the Star, the leaders will discuss Mt Kenya unity, governance, good leadership and unity of the nation.
Speaking with the Star yesterday, Jacob Gitau who serves as the party leader of People’s Party of Kenya acknowledged that he had been invited, but said that the event was not about the Central region.
"Peoples’ Party of Kenya, which is a member of Mount Kenya Unity Forum, has been invited but it’s purely Karua’s event, and not a Mount Kenya event,' said Gitau.
William Kabogo, the Tujibebe Wakenya party leader said he was not invited.
