UDA's Nakuru county gubernatorial aspirant Susan Kihika after not showing up for the Standard group debate held at Midland hotel has told off the media for bias. In a bitter response to the same after host Ken Mijungu claimed that Kihika had promised to attend, Kihika now claims she had not confirmed attendance and that the journalist was lying.
All the other aspirants showed up for the debate with only Kihika's stand remaining empty. His rival Lee Kinyanjui took the chance to prove his track record and convince voters that he deserved reelection. The other aspirants pointed fingers at Kinyanjui on several matters but insecurity topped up the list.
"It is not only shameful but unethical for a journalist, on National Television like KTN to lie to viewers. You know very well that I did not at any point commit to appear in the DEBATE. Between a prior commitment to a meeting of 4,000 people of Nakuru and a Biased Journalist moderating a debate- I made my choice to be with the people! Wacheni Fitina jameni," Kihika said.
Kihika's no-show for the debate has had a negative impact with many accusing her of too much pride and lack of commitment to present to the Nakuru people.
