How High Court's Ruling Has Placed Raila Odinga's 2022 Bid at Crossroads

Before his death and ascension to heaven, Jesus told his disciples to be watchful for the son of man will one day give them a surprise visit. 2022 is fast approaching and various presidential hopefuls are presently recruiting strikers, technical team members and readying their forces, woe betide him he who will be caught unprepared.

After decades of gracing the country’s political stage, Raila Odinga’s future political prospect is still blurred but that would not have been the case if High Court of Kenya did upheld the legitimacy of Building Bridges Initiative late last week.

Let it be remembered that Odinga II had used his last shot in 2017 against Uhuru Kenyatta of Jubilee Party. The handshake reignited his political embers and BBI gave him a lifetime. Its Building Bridges Initiative which would have given him a limelight to hang on or leap out but High Court of Kenya has made that impossible.

After bicameral house’s nod, Kenyans were to decide its fate and this would have given Ralla chance to weigh his options the same way he did in 2005 when his NO team won against Kibaki’s, he consolidated his base and in 2007 race he was a force to reckon.
