Wafula Chebukati, the chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), is scheduled to announce the presidential election results. A portion of Kisumu residents have pledged to accept the outcome.
"You are aware that everything has come to a halt. Sincerely, we are awaiting the winner's announcement. I am aware that we all voted for our preferred candidates, but we will accept the winner and return to our normal lives and work," said Omondi.
Otieno repeated his comments, stating, "We would accept the results and recognize whoever is announced as the President of all Kenyans."
Lillian Aoko and Karen Atieno claimed that, despite having voted for Raila Odinga, they will accept the outcome regardless of who is declared the victor.
"I hope the results will favor the candidate I voted for, but if not, I will remain cool and accept whoever is declared. All I wish for is that Kenyans would remain calm and that none of us will take to the streets or incite violence," Atieno stated.
