It is a sigh of relief to former Nairobi county boss mike sonko after a court sitting in Mombasa orders stopping IEBC from printing ballot papers or publishing list of candidates vying for Mombasa gubernatorial seat in a national gazette.
Sonko is looking to overturn IEBC dispute resolution committee decision to bar him from vying for Mombasa gubernatorial seat. Sonko accused IEBC of discriminating him by barring him from vying yet he presented all the requirements as per the commission.
IEBC through its chairman Wafula Chebukati had revealed that people who were impeached from the office we're not eligible to vie any elective position. On the other hand Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Johnson Sakaja will know his fate on Friday when the high court will make his final ruling regarding credibility of his university documents.
Commission for higher education had earlier r revoked his Teams university degree certificate while IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said Sakaja will be on the ballot unless he receives court order.
