Joyful Moments To Mike Sonko And His Allies As The Case Against Him Comes To An End Finally

Mike Mbuvi Sonko, the former governor of Nairobi, may now smile after the High Court of Kenya recently dismissed a lawsuit that questioned his ability to run for the governor of Mombasa in the next general elections on August 9.

A three-judge panel decided that the petition had been filed prematurely and issued that determination.

Along with Sonko, other politicians who have been under scrutiny for their integrity include Samwel Arama, the MP for Nakuru Town, and Karungo Thang'wa, the UDA party's candidate for the Murang'a senate.

"It is best to wait to use this court's jurisdiction until all available IEBC options have been exhausted. Regarding certain matters, we refuse jurisdiction "said they.

Justices Chacha Mwita, David Majanja, and Mugure Thande made up the three-judge panel.

Kenyans are currently anticipating the Electoral Commission's next decision regarding Sonko's run for governor of Mombasa.

Sonko was disqualified by the IEBC from running for the position of Governor of Mombasa, citing his impeachment from office as the Governor of Nairobi and his lack of integrity.
