President-elect William Ruto has made a major appointments just days after being declared the President-elect.
Details emerging reveal that the President-elect has today appointed National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Shollei and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Veronica Maina as his representatives in the Assumption of the office of President Committee.
The committee being chaired by the Joseph Kinyua, the Head of Public service is organising the swearing in as part of its mandate. It also draws membership from the Cabinet and the senior ranks of the public service.
The President-elect made the appointments bad the Assumption of the Office of President Act requires the President-Elect to send representation to the Committee to ensure that he is involved and aware of the planning.
William Samoei Arap Ruto will be sworn in on August 30 if no petition is filed at the Supreme Court to challenge his election by Monday.
