The High Court today has given another landmark ruling regarding Kakamega County gubernatorial aspirant Hon Cleophas Malala who is looking to become the second Governor on ANC party ticket.
In the court ruling, Kakamega High Court has lifted the order barring Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission from gazetting Kakamega County senator Cleophas Malala as a gubernatorial aspirant on the ANC ticket.
This comes after an initial ruling in which the High Court barred the IEBC from clearing Cleophas Malala from contesting pending the hearing and determination of the application on the petition challenging his academic qualifications.
However, this latest ruling comes as a sign of relief for Cleophas Malala who is looking to succeed Kakamega County Governor Hon Wycliffe Oparanya.
If cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Cleophas Malala is set to battle it out with ODM party aspirant for the seat Hon Fernandes Barasa on the ballot.
