Opinion: Education Sector, Curfew, Referendum? What To Expect From Uhuru's Speech

Many Kenyans are wondering on which step the President might take to curb on the increasing numbers of Covid_19 disease infections per day.

The forthcoming speech by the President might include these sectors;

1. Health. The President might advocate for improvement of working conditions for workers. He may also have plans to enhance health facilities for example improving on I.C.U beds.

2. Curfew. The President may do away with the curfew since Corona Virus infection rate is less and the country is in a position to deal with the numbers.

3. School closure. The schools might not be closed. The government is really working hard to bring the term dates to their normal dates.

4. Referendum. President Uhuru might touch on the importance of referendum to facilitate BBI agenda. The Building Bridges Initiative is a proposal between him and ODM leader Raila Odinga. He has a great duty to campaign about referendum now that BBI agenda is passed by more than half of the counties in Kenya.

5. Employment. The President and his government might have plans to create employment opportunities to help people who are still affected economically by Corona Virus pandemic. Creating jobs for such people would rise their living standards.
