"The Word Corruption Did Not Cross Ruto's Lips" Raila Odinga's Secretariat Faults Ruto's Manifesto

Raila Odinga Presidential Secretariat has faulted Deputy President William Ruto's Manifesto terming it as "lofty and empty promises".

In a statement undersigned by the Secretariat's spokesperson, Professor Makau Mutua, Raila's team claimed that Ruto's Manifesto event at the Kasarani was marred with empty promises as slogans.

"The only word to describe what the whole nation saw and heard - is underwhelming. The evening was punctuated by empty promises, slogans, and headshakes," read part of the statement.

Raila's secretariat further noted that Ruto's manifesto lacked the most important issue facing the country. According to Mutua, the word corruption never crossed Ruto's lips even a single time during the event.

"The word corruption was not mentioned and did not cross Mr. Ruto's lips even once. Like the plague, Mr Ruto completely avoided the mention of the word. We know why," read the statement in parts.

Raila's team advised Kenyans to vote wisely wondering how the DP would lead the country into prosperity if he can't directly face corruption, an issue they claimed to be the root cause of the country's tribulations.
