Nyeri Deputy Governor Delivers Her Late Mother's Message To Ruto Over His Bid In Raila's Presence

Caroline Karugu, the deputy governor of Nyeri, has disclosed what her late mother warned her about the presidential succession battle shortly before her death.

According to an associate of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, her late mother pleaded with her to encourage Ruto to allow Raila to serve his term because he is still young and will have his turn to rule.

My mother had a message for Deputy President William Ruto: "Your turn has not yet come; Baba's turn has come," she confessed.

She stated that her late mother lauded Raila as a patriot who deserved an opportunity to serve as the country's fifth president.

Similarly to how Karugu claimed her mother advised her not to bother Governor Mutahi Kahiga because it was his turn to serve, she promised her that her day would come as well. Karugu's mother is being laid to rest today in the presence of Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga.
