BREAKING: Raila Terms Declaration of Ruto as President-Elect as Null And Void

Raila Odinga, the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya has said that they announcement made by Chebukati on presidential elections are null and void.

"We totally and without reservation reject the presidential results announced yesterday by Chebukati," Raila said.

He also said that the announcement by Chebukati should be rejected by the courts.

Deputy President William Ruto won the president on his first attempt thanks to a populist campaign centered on the hustler narrative, support from vote-rich regions that won the previous two elections, and considerable inroads into the territory of competitors.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate received 7,176,141 votes (50.49%), surpassing his primary challenger, Raila Odinga of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition, who received 48.85% of the vote.

In addition, the President-elect received at least 25 percent of the vote in 39 counties, 15 more than the 24 necessary by the constitution, demonstrating the strength of his "bottom of the pyramid"focused campaign.
