Talking to her Facebook account on Saturday, October 16, the legistlator faulted how the local television for been skewed towards Raila Odinga more than DP Ruto and other presidential candidates.
In her analysis, Wamuchomba said there should exist a principle of fair play where news coverage must be balanced, credible and factual.
“Last night Raila’s coverage was 7 minutes including a live link while Ruto’s insert was less than 2 minutes. As a professional journalists, I know there exist a principal of fair play where news coverage must be balanced credibly and factually,” she said.
She further called on the communication Authority of Kenya to intervene and ensure fair play for all media house.
A month ago, Deputy President William Ruto’s allies launched scathing attacks on Royal Media service LTD’s Citizen TV over claims of malice and bias against the DP.
The politician faulted a report aired by the station on Sunday, September 5, that showed the chaotic scenes during Ruto’s tour of Nyeri County.
The reports alleged that the DP’s convoy was stoned by rowdy youths opposed to his visit in Kieni Constituency.
The allies took issue with the headline “Nyeri Mobs Stone Ruto” claiming that the video did not validate the claims as there was no such occurrence.
