In the political rally Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho was missing. This has raised many questions why the ODM deputy party leader did not turn out to welcome him. However, some have said that he will be present when Raila Odinga will tour the other counties. A large crowd turned out to welcome him which has caught his opponents by surprise.
Raila Odinga has pleaded with the locals to ensure unity as we approach the general elections. He has advised them to stay in unity as region so as to benefit like the rest in the country. Divisions brought by other political leaders in the country would just bring in chaos. Only a united front will achieve political and economic development according to Raila Odinga.
On the issue of the formation of a party to represent the coastal region. Odinga has maintained that there is no need to form a party which is being propagated by some of the leaders. This means that the ODM leader is threatened by the political plans which may affect his political support base.
