There is no meaningful vision Deputy President William Ruto and members of Tangatanga his brigade of politicians have for the country, ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale says.
He, therefore, is advising Kenyans not to allow themselves to be misled by the group, even as it promises them of a better future on grounds that it knows their problems and shortcomings.
For him, Tangatanga is a group bringing together people of no integrity, and whose only future is worsening the situation by driving the nation deeper into corruption if given the chance.
Etale says that for Ruto and his people, corruption is development, so Kenyans should not pay any attention to them when they promise them development.
"We know where we have come from and where we are going". This is one of tangatanga's rallying call. Where have they come from if not from corruption? Where are they going, if not corruptive future? For them corruption is development," he said in a tweet on Sunday.
His remarks come at a time when his boss, ODM leader Raila Odinga, is among those being seen as seeking to prevent Ruto from capturing the presidency in the 2022 general polls.
On Saturday, The Standard reported that even as he remains silent on his 2022 intentions, Raila is among those eyeing the ODM presidential ticket in 2022, a ticket also being sought by his deputies Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Oparanya.
Ruto is expected to approach the polls on a UDA ticket, after falling out with President Uhuru Kenyatta, who leads the ruling Jubilee Party, where the DP is also the Deputy Party Leader.
