Murathe Bows to Pressure, Says he Will Attend PIC Summons on Kemsa Scandal, Passes a Strong Message

Among the news making headlines last week were reports Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe, was deeply involved in Kemsa scandal, costing more than 4 billion Kenyan shillings. He was summoned to appear before parliamentary Public Investment Committee, but couldn't appear and instead sent his affidavit.

And now Murathe, has said that he has asked to meet the PIC on 29th April, to try and clear his name,although he was instructed to write an affidavit.

He affirmed what he wrote in affidavit, that he is not related to Kilig company, which received the contract award of the said 4 billion Kenyan shillings.

Murathe said he is not director, owner or beneficiary of Kilig company but he was just loaning mangers who are known to him.

The Jubilee Vice Chairman also said the reason they are after him is all about politics. He added that there was no procurement, delivery or payment. He added that he thought the PIC was suppose to protect the interests of the public.
