President Uhuru Kenyatta will no longer campaign for Azimio One Kenya Alliance Presidential candidate Hon Raila Amolo Odinga and his running partner Martha Karua, according to Jubilee Party deputy chairman Mr. David Murathe.
Despite this, Uhuru's supporters claim that he will campaign for ODM leader Raila Odinga in June. Mr. Murathe, President Kenyatta has a lot of work ahead of him before his term expires.
"Uhuru isn't on the itinerary." He will return home in 79 days and will be responsible for ensuring a smooth transition and election. He has taken over the mantle of President and Commander-in-Chief," Murathe remarked.
Mr. Murathe continues to claim that since taking over from retired President Mwai Kibaki, the president has multiplied the country's economy.
He indicated unequivocally that the ODM leader understands the country's direction and will be happy to hand over the reins to him.
He denied, however, that the Handshake led to the expulsion of his major allies from the cabinet.
"Prior to the handshake, the president kept Ruto informed. The DP was the last one to speak to the president before traveling to Harambee House to meet Raila, and he was in accord," he stated.
