Raila Under Pressure To Retire As List Of 5 Powerful Renegades Lining To Topple Him Emerge

Having lost his fifth stab at the presidency, the ODM leader Raila Odinga has been under pressure to pave way for new blood as "things continue to fall apart" in his camp.

Mr. Odinga has been facing rebellion in his camp especially after lawmakers begun infighting and wrangles for positions in parliament. Due to his ripe age for retirement, there have been calls for Baba to step down from his role as the Nyanza kingpin and opposition leader to usher in a new set of strong leaders.

According to the Star Kenya, some of the renegades from Raila's truf have been lining up to topple Raila. The big faces of the 5 powerful leaders include ex Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero who lost while striving to clinch the Hombay County seat in the last election. The other four include David Ochieng', Nicholas Gumbo, Dalmas Otieno and the ex Migori Governor Okoth Obado.

However, taking over from Raila Odinga to be declared as the Nyanza kingpin is not a walk in the park. Kenyans are waiting eagerly with bathed breath to see if Raila will endorse any leader from his community to take over from him or he will rally behind Kalonzo and support the Wiper Party leader's presidential bid.
