Cate Waruguru, the Laikipia County Women's Representative, has openly warned President Uhuru Kenyatta that things aren't as they used to be, claiming that people aren't impressed with the way he conducts the country.
Uhuru should not trust MPs who tell him everything is well on the ground, according to Waruguru, who added that residents in the Mt Kenya region are dissatisfied with him.
On Saturday, September 25, at a funeral ceremony in Kieni, Nyeri county, the outspoken politician chastised Kieni MP Kanini Kega for lying to the president about how things are going on the ground when the reality is quite different.
"Those of you who are close to the president led by my friend here Kanini Kega, kindly tell Uhuru the truth, stop lying to him that people are happy here, they are not at all, the economy is unbearable to them, "Waruguru said.
Kega was also advised by Waruguru to use his strong friendship with Uhuru to advise him on how to save money on gas and fuel rather than pushing his agendas whenever they met.
" You speak to the president more often, why don't you tell him to reduce the cost of gas and fuel Kenyans are suffering, "Waruguru stated.
National grievances are made in parliament, not at public ceremonies like funerals, Kega defended himself in a retort. Kanini warned Kenyans to prepare for difficult times ahead, saying that the solution will need patience and sobriety on the part of lawmakers.
