Kabogo's 2016 Advice That Has Given DP Ruto a Political Lifeline

William Ruto is no doubt a proverbial cat with nine lives, despite of the political machinations unleashed on his camp between 2018 and 2020, he is still walking around with his head high as if nothing happened between the aforesaid period.

The unprecedented fallout between the self-declared Chief Hustler and his boss saw the former and his entourage facing wrath of Kenyatta II, a good number of pro-Ruto stalwarts were edged out of plum parliamentary positions with Samoei's office getting stripped out of it's powers and fundings.

How did William manage to survive the aforesaid tsunami that was threatening his political life? In one of his past discourses, the former Kiambu governor William Kabogo advised the man from Sugoi to desist from pegging his hopes on endorsement and Uhuru's Yangu Kumi na Yake Kumi promise but instead break his coon and chant for his course.

It is evident that the second in command flaunted Kabogo's advice and five years later, his name is but a countrywide sensation, how did Samoei achieve this? Speaking in Kuresoi Constituency in 2016, Ruto lauded Kabogo for his since advice and the former promised to spread his tentacles far and wide.

True to his words, DP Ruto has created a good rapport with the lowly in the society and he is presently hailed the man of the people. Pollsters recently showed that he is the most popular presidential candidate in Mt Kenya region and this makes his 2022 bid look probable.

Assuming he will keep his pace and overrun his would-be competitors, then William will predictably have his name written below Uhuru Kenyatta's in Kenya's Book of presidents. Should that happen, he will verily thank Kabogo for his insights.
