On June 25 the nominated MP Wilson Session called a press conference and it was at this moment when he announced that he has resigned as the KNUT Secretary-General. This was the worst moment for teachers because he had represented them well for years now.
His strategic resignation came a day before the Union's General Election where he was going to face the Knut's acting National Chairman Collins Oyuu. Speaking during the press the embattled SG claimed that he was forced into making that decision by the Government and his opponent.
Collins Oyuu was elected unopposed as the new KNUT Secretary-General and assured teachers that he will right the wrongs done by Wilson Sossion. Speaking during an interview with NTV the former KNUT SG has decided to open up.
According to Sossion, the new education curriculum CBC which is being implemented was not done in good faith. He goes ahead to claim that the Government went ahead to put a notion that it was for the good of Citizens.
Sossion in that interview claimed that the CBC was implemented for business reasons. It was an avenue for some senior individuals in government to benefit. " Mfumo mpya wa elimu wa CBC haukuletwa kwa manufaa ya wananchi, ni kwa manufaa ya kibiashara," Wilson Sossion said
Translation; Wilson Sossion: The new CBC education system was not introduced for the benefit of the people, it was for the benefit of the business.
This is the first time that the former SG has spoken after tendering his resignation and with time it seems he will expose the government in regards to many dubious activities committed in the Education Ministry. Here is the Video.
