The outspoken politician referred to the decision to reject Julie Soweto's appeal as unfair while speaking on the subject. She continued by saying that Martha Koome made an effort to bring down a young attorney.
The former Murang'a county woman representative continued, "I won't sit in parliament and watch women be intimidated when they want to put their best foot forward." She committed to oppose any efforts to undermine women.
The Azimio la Umoja camp did not take kindly to the Supreme Court of Kenya's decision to dismiss the Azimio la Umoja suit by labeling it as "hot air." Leaders who were close to the former prime minister banded together to attack Martha Koome, accusing her of disrespecting the court.
The former prime minister has now started making preparations to reform the judiciary as a result of this. He claims that by 2024, he wants to see both the judiciary and the IEBC undergo fundamental overhaul.
