BREAKING: Raila Odinga Cleared By IEBC to Run For Presidency in August

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga has today, Sunday, June 5, to run for the presidential seat in the upcoming general elections in August.

The former Prime Minister will be looking to clinch the top seat in the country after several years of trying. He will be deputised by National Rainbow Coalition of Kenya (NARC-K) party leader Martha Karua.

The announcement by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) comes at a time when a rival coalition, Kenya Kwanza Alliance had questioned his academic papers.

However, that will be a thing of the past as IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati cleared him to face other rivals who have also been given clean bill of health.

Presidential candidates cleared by IEBC include Raila Odinga, United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party leader Deputy President William Ruto, Walter Mong'are, Roots party presidential candidate Prof Wajackoya and Agano party leader David Mwaure Waihiga among others yet to be cleared.
