Bungoma; Crowd Gets Charged as Bumula MP Critises Raila's Development Record as Ruto Watches(Video)

It was a warm welcome as Deputy president William Ruto landed in Shirisha, Bungoma County for a meeting with a section of leaders and hustlers from the Western region.

However, mixed emotions was witnessed when Bumula constituency Member of Parliament Moses Wekesa Mwambu took to the podium to address the mammoth crowd that graced the event.

The legislator poked holes into ODM leader Raila Odinga's development record in the region, invoking the already overwhelmed crowd who shouted back as he critised the former Prime minister.

Hon Mwambu Mabonga said that despite the region repeatedly voting for Raila again and again over the past years, it is so sad to see that not even a single development project can be counted in Raila's name in the region.

He asked the residents of Bumula constituency to point out a single development project, or any form of support Raila has done in the region since voting him in the 2017 election.

"Tangu mpige kura 2017, Raila mmeona hapa mara ngapi? Tembea hii Bumula unionyeshe choo ya Raila Odinga, unionyeshe ata sadaka ya Raila hapa kwa makanisa," meaning;

How many times have you seen Raila since voting for him in 2017? Can you show me a single toilet in Raila's name across the entire Bumula constituency? Show me any church in this constituency where he has contributed," Hon Wekesa posed sparkling mixed replies from the crowd.

"Hakuna mheshimiwa, alienda kuvua samaki ya kisumu city," a voice from the background replied which losely traslates to;

"None, he went fishing in Kisumu City."

The MP claimed that he knows he will be called names for speaking the truth. Again, he invoked the crowd when he questioned the essence of Kenyans queuing for hours to register for Huduma number, yet it is never functional.

"Ata bibi aliniacha kwa sababu ya kuendea huduma number Nairobi, hiyo kitu msirudishe hapa," a man's voice could be heard from the background, which losely traslates to;

"We parted ways with my wife because she insisted to go for her Huduma number in Nairobi, please don't bring that thing back."
