Several Azimio movement elected leaders have shifted camps from the coalition to Kenya Kwanza Alliance led by president elect William Ruto.
The first affiliates of Azimio movement to defect to Kenya Kwanza Alliance was United Democratic movement ( UDM) party led by Mandera senator- elect Ali Roba. Movement for democracy and growth party led by Ugenya MP- elect Ochieng followed.
Ten out of twelve Independently elected legislators have also joined the Kenya Kwanza outfit. Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza who was elected as an independent candidate also joined the group.
Today Wiper party members of parliament elect representing Lagdera Constituency have dismissed claims of him ditching Azimio La Umoja movement to Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
Speaking during a live television at TV 47 Kenya, Ladgera member of parliament elect Farah Maalim said that he will remain in Azimio movement even if the Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga defects to Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
Mr. Farah Maalim who once served as deputy speaker in the national assembly promised to hit the ground Incase of run off to campaign for the Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua.
" Even if Raila Odinga shifts to Kenya Kwanza, I will remain in Azimio. If there will be a run off I will go back to the ground and fight for Raila Odinga to be the next president" said Farah Maalim during the interview.
Wiper party led by former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka is one of the affiliate parties in Azimio La Umoja movement. There has been speculations that the party is warming to join Kenya Kwanza Alliance after supreme court presidential petition ruling.
