It has now emerged that some leaders in Tanzania have branded themselves as presidents, are somehow acting like one.
According to the Speaker of the House, some Regional and District Commissioners have been telling their subjects that they are presidents of their respective regions, which is raising questions among Tanzanians.
The Speaker has since sounded a warning by saying Tanzania has one president, and that is President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
He has warned the RC and DC, that branding themselves as presidents could trigger them to do things or give orders that are only meant for the President
"There are Regional Commissioners and District Commissioners who believe they are presidents in their regions, you will hear them say I am the President of this Region or this District who said so?
"The President of this country is only one, Samia Suluhu Hassan. If you wear a jacket that is not yours the result is that you can do things by thinking you are the President," said the speaker after a loose translation from Swahili.
