According to the deputy president William Ruto, Raila Odinga is wasting time engaging Mt Kenya region for Uhuru Kenyatta told him of the secret long ago. According to Ruto, Uhuru told him it's only by working to the region that's the only route to climb the mountain.

Ruto also revealed that Uhuru Kenyatta told him the mountain cannot be climbed in one week or months rather constant engagement with the people. He has therefore warned Raila Odinga and other candidates against wasting time in Mt Kenya for he has done exactly what Uhuru told him and won the support of the people in that area.
This clearly puts to question Uhuru genuineness to support Raila Odinga ahead of the 2022 general election. It's clear already DP Ruto seems to have a head start given his heed to Uhuru advise that has seen him win the support of the people directly.
It's clear also that probably Uhuru Kenyatta has not told Raila Odinga of the secret of climbing the mountain in the four years of handshake. Ruto revelation clearly confirms Uhuru could be indirectly supporting his deputy to succeed him come the 2022 general election so to completely finish Raila Odinga at the ballot.
