Polling station with 600 voters will have 600 ballot papers, no extra ballot papers, Chebukati Says

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairperson Wafula Chebukati confirmed that the ballot papers have arrived.

While addressing the journalists shortly in Bomas of Kenya, the IEBC chair said that a polling station with registered voters will have 600 ballot papers.

He confirmed that there will be nothing like extras ballot papers being printed.

"If a polling station has 6 registered voters it will have 600 ballot papers. There is nothing like extra ballot papers being printed," Wafula Chebukati, IEBC Chair said.

Chebukati also said that as a commission they are aware that during this election period, there’s bound to be some misinformation.

He urged the journalists to refrain misinforming the people of Kenya.

"As a commission we are aware that during this election period, there’s bound to be some misinformation. We however just want to communicate the truth; let’s stop misinforming Kenyans" he added.

Chebukati's remarks comes just hours when Kenya remains with less than 32 days to hold its general elections.
