The spokesperson of Raila Odinga's presidential campaign team Professor Makau Mutua has for the first time spoken after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission suspended gubernatorial elections in Kakamega and Mombasa counties.
The independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission reached the decision to suspend the gubernatorial elections for the two counties after they noticed the ballot papers had inaccurate details for the candidates.
It had been expected to be a neck-to-neck battle in both Kakamega county between Kenya Kwanza's Cleophas Malala up against Azimio's Fernandes Barasa while Mombasa's battle had pitted Kenya Kwanza's Hassan Omar against Azimio's Abdullswamad Sheriff.
In a wooing message to the supporters allied to the Azimio La Umoja camp, Professor Makau Mutua now wants the voters to turn up in large numbers tomorrow.
He has encouraged their supporters that despite the suspension of the gubernatorial elections, they should come out in multitudes and vote for their presidential candidate Raila Odinga and the running mate Martha Karua in the race to state house.
