The report by International consortium of investigative journalist (ICIJ) in the now famous Pandora papers has stirred a serious debate among Kenyans. President Kenyatta was named among other presidents like Russian President Vladimir Putin in the report.
The report however does not explain the source of the wealth but listed the Kenyatta family members as the beneficiaries among them the president, his brother Muhoho and Mama Ngina among others.
What has rubbed the Kenyans wrongly among them deputy president's supporters is the fact that the president has been at the forefront in trying to fight corruption and has asked public servants to declare their sources of wealth. The expectations of Kenyans would be the president to lead by example.
While responding to the report Uhuru Kenyatta has claimed that the report is a good place to start. So that could mean he is willing to explain where the funds in the offshore account were acquired from. The president also added that he will give more information when he jets back from an official trip to the US.
