Kirinyaga woman representative Wangui Ngirici has found herself in a hot soup following her statement that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will find it uneasy in securing Mount Kenya ahead of 2022 polls.
"Oranges don't do well in high altitude areas, they end up being tasteless," she said through her facebook page.
Kenyans especially those allied to president Uhuru Kenyatta and the Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga did not receive her statement positively and reminded her to that Raila will succeed in securing Mount Kenya.
Some Kenyans also told her that it will be very difficult for wheelbarrows to do well in the mountain as compared to oranges.
"Wheelbarrows do not climb hills, leave alone the mountains," Joe Mithamo.
"Now it is oranges, originally it was pork! Yote tutakula. A wheelbarrow is likely to kill in the mountain, avoid," John Mosmo.
"Don't be ignorant, oranges give the best essential vitamin C, that is why we eat oranges everyday," Vickie Patience.
"You can eat grapes, but my family and I shall climb the mountain with oranges," David Nyaga.
"You are wrong. I think agriculture lessons met you in the dorm," Douglas Obare.Wangui Ngirici is one of the Mount Kenya lawmakers who are allied to the deputy president William Ruto. She will be contesting for Kirinyaga governor seat under UDA party.
