The Azimio La umoja movement, led by ODM chairman Hon Raila Odinga and his running mate Hon Martha Karua, has been rocked by festivities today. This follows claims that Wiper head Hon Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has consented to join Azimio and has linked up with Raila Odinga, having been offered two more significant roles in Raila Odinga's camp.
After a series of meetings, hon Musyoka has now agreed to link up with Raila Odinga inside Azimio, according to the Tuko News this morning. Kalonzo sought the Foreign Affairs and Energy Ministries, which Raila Odinga promised to grant him, according to this source. These two titles are in addition to his role as chief minister.
Kalonzo had threatened to run for president as an independent candidate before being urged by his party to join Azimio. His decision to join forces with Raila today will be a success for Azimio, since they now have a strong chance of winning the upcoming general elections.
